DSS not stacking

I haven't changed any setting but got hold of a new Duo band filter which I used last night taking images of NGC4755 and have used once B4- but of the 60 frames I captured last night from 2 to 4 min in length DSS would not stack more than one frame and yes I moved the star detection slider back and forward, tried various settings. I could open the files in a FIT viewer and there where plenty of stars to be seen, anyone have aqny clues as to why this may be happening have not changed the settings etc on my camera or DSS which stacked other images flawlessly

Trevor,
Ive been using DSS for 6 years now and does a great job
A lot of folk have issues with stacking OSC narrowband subs using DSS due to not enough stars being detected by the stacker

Give my procedure below a try, hopefully it resolves your issue

“Star Detection Threshold and Registration

Setting up the registration process for your data requires DSS to detect enough stars for alignment and stacking. Sometimes DSS does not compute enough detected stars ( even after setting the threshold to the lowest setting of 2% ) for the following reasons -
Using Narrowband Filters
Poor focus
Bad Tracking or guiding
Atmospheric Conditions ( Seeing )

DSS requires and uses at least 8 or more good stars out of a larger quantity of detected Stars to register, align and Stack your frames
If your Star detection count is extremely low, you can increase the number of detected stars by carrying out the following -
Go to Options > Settings > Raw Fits Digital Development Process Settings
Raw or Fits tab
Colour Adjustment > Brightness
Increase Brightness only from 1.0000 to 2.0000
Press Apply then Ok
Check Star Detection threshold again and hopefully Star count will be increased.
Increase Brightness again if Star count is still low
Star counts from 50 to 150 are usually enough for DSS to find at least 8 or more good Stars”.

Good Luck
Martin

Trevor,
I’ll send you a few of my DSS information and procedure files I’ve put together over the past few years
They may be of some help ??
If not you’ve got ‘em anyway

Cheers
Martin

Thanks again Martin, before you had responded I tried a number of different options and programs Siril, Fitworks etc to stack the images without success , hopefully your remedy may work
