Just wondering if anyone has the wiring layout to make a Synscan handset to AZ-GTi cable,
The Handset has an 8 pin RJ45 plug while the AZ-GTi (in true Skywatcher fashion) cannot use the standard AZ-EQ6 cable, needing an RJ12 6 pin plug instead..
I have cable, plugs and crimpers, just not the wiring diagram....
RJ12 pin#1 Blue
RJ12 pin#2 Yellow
RJ12 pin#3 Green
RJ12 pin#4 Red
RJ12 pin#5 Black
RJ12 pin#6 White
RJ45 end:
RJ45 pin#1 Not Used
RJ45 pin#2 White
RJ45 pin#3 Not Used
RJ45 pin#4 Black
RJ45 pin#5 Red
RJ45 pin#6 Yellow
RJ45 pin#7 Green
RJ45 pin#8 Not Used
So in the original Synscan cable, from RJ12 to RJ45 the pin connections are:
RJ12 pin#1 to RJ45 N/U
RJ12 pin#2 to RJ45 pin#6
RJ12 pin#3 to RJ45 pin#7
RJ12 pin#4 to RJ45 pin#5
RJ12 pin#5 to RJ45 pin#4
RJ12 pin#6 to RJ45 pin#2
Hi Kunama,
Just wondering if you managed to get the synscan handset to work with your AZ-GTi?
I made the cable as suggested, but the handset (V4) shows 'no response both axes ' error message. The AZ-GTi has firmware AZGTi Mount, Right Arm, AZ/EQ Dual Mode, Version 3.14 and the handset has firmware 4.39.05.
The RJ45 cable worked fine before I added the 6P6C plug.
Thanks for any info.
