So who has been buying things???

OK own up !!

Who has been buying things astronomical???

With all this rain we have been having I'd say there has been a lot of amassing of equiptment going on.

I for one am to blame for some of it as I have just bought a Crayford style focuser 10/1 and a few minor odds and ends. But that would only account for and hour or two of clouds.

Fizz up now of forever hold your peace.

OK I confess - but only to a percentage. Bought an ETX 125AT (5-in) from Astro Optical on Tuesday 5 Sep and it's rained every day since. Adding up the confessions so far, there's still a big discrepancy. I reckon it's time for the the new 12-inch Dob owner to come clean!

Hello Bongo!
Nothing new here at my place. But I know of 4 other astronomers in my immediate neck of the woods that may have purchased lately.
The ants are still building their nests up higher so it doesn't look too good for me.

Well I'm selling to buy...lol

finaly made a deal with the devil ( yeah and wife as well) to allow me to move towards a RC in the near future. Also with my old back being dodgy, I was thinking of the new 10inch RC,

So I'll make the big announcement when it's ordered...hopefully soon...

Lee - which UHC filter did you buy and have you had a chance to use it yet?

I'm looking to buy one in the next few days. I'm close to ordering the Lumicon UHC.

I picked up the Astronomik 1.25" UHC from Bintel..... I did use it to briefly observe the Lagoon last night - unbelievable difference..... I can't offer you a comparison to anything else as this is the first UHC I've looked through, but it certainly brought out a heap more nebulosity.
Not a big test I know, I was primarly out to work out how to polar align the G-11....

Couldnt help myself - got an Argo Navis for my LB 12". and as the box it came in wasn't very big, she thought in wasn't expensive. Shouted the wife a hair do. Yes you've guessed it moon last week and rain all this week.

I've just bought (and received) an EQ5 mount from garyh.
Sitting next to my Vixen SP mount, the differences are hard to pick.

Um, well, sorta, but it wasn't all for me. Losmandy dovetail, Losmandy 2 axis camera mount, Stellarvue finder , UV/IR filter and a couple of other things, but nothing much honest.

Except for the 12" GS for the observatory about a month ago.

But that's all.......I think....I lose track sometimes
