You will be happy with the 8" DOB. Don't worry too much about the type of glass in the mirrors. You only get the better quality glass if you buy a bigger t'scope. (ie; not necessary with a small mirror). You will need a 'cheshire' collimation E/P tho. It is an essential tool for a DOB. I do suggest a 'Chandler Planisphere',(large version), a red LED torch, (saves your dark adaption), & a chair tho., as being stable & comfortable whilst viewing is a great help. (saves your back).
