Barlow

Just wondering what to do about a barlow x2 I have a 1'25 focuser and am wondering should I buy the 1'25 for $39 or or go for the 2" for $79? Just incase i move up to a bigger focuser in the future? Any help in this area would be appreciated.

go the focuser first... you wont fit the 2" barlow into the 1.25 focuser.

umm what scope do you have agian?

oh, and save for a quality barlow. a good one will make things look better and a poor one will actually degrade your view

Are you sure it's a 1.25" focuser? The GSO's come with 2" focusers with a 1.25" adapter.

I'd get the 2" barlow, because it also comes with a 1.25" adapter, so you can use any and all eyepieces with it.

If you want a bit better quality, get the Orion Shorty Plus 2x barlow, around $140.

Hey Gary,

Why not just jump on the Newcastle/Sydney train and go pick it up. Cheaper than driving down, quicker than the post, and you can use it as soon as you get back!

Dont think so Ken last time I came home on a Sydney train I fell asleep and woke up in central again lol. Anyway it costs about $25 return to sydney on the train these days. I'll wait with baited breath on the post.
we had clear skies for a few hours tonight and I saw Saturn with three moons and maybe a fourth with averted viewing(dont ask me to swear on the bible though) the forth was very close to the ring on the right : ) Also had a field day looking at the Jewel box.
