How to save a thread to read later

There is so much important information here that I have tried to save it to read later and haven't had much luck.

I cut and pasted but one page turns into 12 pages with all these strange heiroglyphics
When i tried clicking on 'show printable version' most of the print marched off the page to the right and I'm sure I haven't had a lot wine tonight
Is there any other way?

"Save As" works for me in konqueror for saving one page. Mozilla/firefox should behave similarly. Not sure about saving a multi page thread in one go, rather than one page at a time. wget with the right options might do the job.

Blackpearl, Have you tried printing them. File>print. Save as, should also work. You can download *SnagIt* from *www.techsmith.com* This is one of many screen grab pros. avail. Costs about $40, but is worth it. Which browser are you using? IE, Firefox??
Just the facts m'am.
ps. You can also *bookmark* this page and use it *Off line*.
pps. When printing, always set your printer to preview. When you hit print, you can see how many pages are to be printed and you can change this in your printer set up.

I cut and paste regularly. Works ok for me. I normally left click and highlight the area I want to save, then once highlighted right click and select copy, then minimise everyting and goto microsoft word, open, a blank document should open up. Right click and select paste and it will paste only the section you highlighted previously.

You then save as whatever filename you want to give it. Works everytime.

Don't forget you can also add a link to your favourites, even if it's just 1 page of a thread.

Thank you all for the advice - it all works fine for me now
I saved rmcpb's thread 'Beginners viewing session' and it is 13 pages long!!
For my peace of mind can someone explain why the print in that thread moves off the page when 'show printable version' is selected???

You probably have to select landscape mode rather than portrait, when you print it.

Or, select the text only, and then when you press print, choose "selected text". It's probably printing the background stuff as well which is pushing the text off to the side.

Use "print preview" and play with the settings, it should help you find a setting where the info isn't pushed off the RHS of the page.
