Indeed. Stay safe.
You know ... I wouldn't be surprised if, nine months from now, there was a mini baby boom.

Yeah, it is already doing the rounds on Facebook that in early 2033 we will be calling the resulting generation the "Quaranteens"

I thought at first from the thread title that she was forced to wear a chastity belt for some reason.

Self isolation doesn't mean you have to sit inside cooped up, you can get outside but not close to people. Too many people thinking this is some sort of armageddon!

I’m curious as to whether my job will be classed as an essential service, probably not but I work outside on my own and have very little contact with people.
Looking like mid week I’ll have a lot more time for astro related stuff

Exactly......I’ve spent plenty at bunnings preparing for the new landscaping I now have time to do!

I AM in an essential service industry (Power related but not a power worker) I am not really sure how it is going to impact me as of yet. I will have a lot of asset inspections to do I think, and I should be able to ensure I can do them in areas I am not going to meet people. With a doubly vulnerable family member I argued my way in to working from home last week for what was previously office based work.
One thing is for sure, they better full their fingers out and put me back in a company vehicle (I have been rattling the sabres to move back out of a novated lease car, which I will have to buy out, to a company owned and signed car, for three months) or I might well find myself subject to regular roadside stops to see what I am doing out and about.

Two best hobbies to have during self isolation would have to be;
Amateur Astronomy & Amateur Radio.
I hear plenty of VK3's on the air lately up here in VK2 land.
Stay safe and look out for each other.
Cheers

Considering that the lockdowns are now national in scope, perhaps a mod could change the thread title to:
Australia going into lockdown

It's not even a total lockdown it's a shutdown of social centres because people couldn't heed the message to stay in small groups and headed to beaches in droves and also it is very hard to monitor how many people end up in bars and clubs etc. The government had to step in because people are stupid and selfish.

There are at least a few more (as some female colleagues have pointed out) in this non-exhaustive list:
Knitting, quilt-making, gardening/horticulture, music (learning/playing instruments), gaming, reading and, of course, the horizontal tango.
