Very sharp. Beautiful to see the inky black dust lanes obscuring everything beyond, being either crossed by, or actually providing, some blue reflection nebulosity. Two aspects in one.

Wowzer Simon, looks pretty good. Purely as feedback on what is a rather nice image...I do see a slight green cast in the dust in the left hand areas and the bright stars look to have been flattened (dimmed) a bit, perhaps some gradients too but gee those stars are tight as a fishes bot bot and you have handled the noise well. Overall a really nice view, well done

Mike

Capture details are in Flickr.

Thanks for spending the time on the feedback Mike, I'll be more careful with my star reduction next time, though I did try to be careful this time- it's so easy to go overboard. Perhaps I should have done 2 versions :-)

HLVG is a free Photoshop plugin from Rogelio Andrea and it will get rid of that excess green. Its possibly airglow.

Great shot and that Sony is looking great here. The image is more CCD like.

Greg.

I did mean the stars being tight as a good thing

Another beautiful photo Simon.

Each time I see one of your shots I'm one step closer to the Sony Shop!

Love the composition as well.

Ross.
