Lunar eclipse July 28

Total eclipse of the Moon this morning. With stars in the background.

Skywatcher 120mm F5 refractor, Pentax K-5, 0.5 sec on an AZ3 mount.

Yeah great shot Kevin. Looked great from our apartment balcony, the pair were framed nicely with our Telstra Tower on Black Mountain and even a lit up construction crane (DM would have loved it ) here in Canberra...but my wife took our DSLR with her on a work trip up north...DOH!!

Nice one Kevin, the old achro certainly holds its own when imaging dimmer objects.

Thanks all. Pretty clear here in Mackay for it. Yes the achro did well. The observatory doesn't have a low look angle to the west so the big scope was not an option. I had to walk down the backyard a bit to avoid the trees.
