Explore Scientific 2" Field Flattener ED APO

Explore Scientific 2" Field Flattener for Explore Scientific ED APO Telescopes

"Optimized to work with Explore Scientific's f/6 - f/7 ED Apo refractor telescopes. Features a standard 2" nosepiece (with M48 filter threads) on the telescope side and a male T / T2 thread on the camera side. Does not come with end caps.

Important Note: The working distance of this flattener is 45mm. Hence, this item is designed to work directly with most astronomical CCD cameras (from companies like SBIG, FLI, Apogee, QSI, ATIK, etc.) that have a female T thread for attachment to a telescope. This item is not designed to be used with DSLR cameras using standard 10mm long T rings and a total back-focus requirement of 55mm.

Specifications

Total length = 1.87" / 47.5mm
Length of male T thread = 0.17" / 4.2mm (threads only); 0.21" / 5.4mm (thread with shoulder)
Optical length (assuming nosepiece and T threads are fully engaged) = 0.44" / 11.1mm
Working distance = 1.77" / 45mm
Length of 2" nosepiece = 1.22" / 31mm
Maximum width = 2.08" / 52.9mm
Weight = 4.3oz"

Price Inc Aust-wide Post = $125

Hi David,
I have just purchased a QHY 8 Pro camera. Would this flattener work with this?

Regards,

Mick

Mick,

My "expertise" ends at DSLRs, not with standing every reference I could find indicated that as a QHY 8 is a CCD camera, the reducer will work well.
