No missed it my miles! would have looked great if it did I left work early to get the beginning and it was worth it. The Circular polar filter I have on the sigma lens was worht it as i filtered out the extra light to reveal Jupiter and a reasonable shot of the detail on the moon. The seeing wasn't all that great even though it was generally clear, it was very turbulent.

My try

Hi everyone,

Looking at all those fantastic images you had all a ball of a time.

Dennis of course had to pick the most dramatic moment when Jupiter was just touching a lunar mountain on the rim, I wouldn't expect anything less

I'm in the middle of a removal and my telescope was packed up that day, but I still managed to make a snapshot.

Looks familiar, Dennis?

In case you all wonder, I plucked a C9.25 from the shop (No, not an XLT with carbon fiber tube ) and plugged a Neximager in primary focus.

When I'm settled at my new place I'll process the other 7480 frames.....

A boxed cheers,

Hey Erwin

Wow – what a great image! At the prime focus of a C9.25 – hmm, must get myself one of these. We seem to have synchronised our image capture times! Your image shows Jupiter in the same position as my effort. I may have to look at the Neximager, as I stood on my LPI yestrday and broke it - ouch!

Maybe Mike from Bintel will sell the LPI at a special Qld Astrofest discount?

Cheers

Dennis

A magnificent animation Paul. Congratulations.
My attempt wit the C-8 was not nearly so good but enough to at least make a record of the event.

Hi Dennis,

Sorry to hear about your LPI, I'll take the Neximager to Astrofest, if you want you can test it.

Cheers,

Late to this thread Some fabulous shots and animations here (wow Dennis! )

I rushed home from work to get to see it, and used a Canon 300D (lens removed) handheld at prime focus of an Optex 6 inch Newtonian. 4:16pm 16th June 2005, Brisbane.
