iPhone 14 Data Usage

I retired my iPhone 8 a couple of weeks ago as it’s causing issues , home button stuffed , battery life hopeless , cracked screen and so on …. It served me well over 7 years
Bought an iPhone 14 and noticed it’s using excessive data ( like 3 or 4GB per day ) and I hardly use it.
Battery usage is fine , extremely efficient compared to the old 8
My usage habits have not changed between the old 8 and new 14 , so I changed some settings ……
Set phone to low data mode
Switched off all notifications
Switched off all apps not used
Switched off Bluetooth
Switched Data Roaming off
Personal Hot spot off
Aeroplane Mode off
Switched off various other controls/ settings not required

I’m sure the phone is using excessive data in the background somehow ??

Any other advice welcome from mobile phone gurus

Thanks in advance

Hi Martin,
Under Settings -> Mobile you should be able to see which apps are using how much data. If the phone is new and freshly setup, it might be syncing photos and iCloud files which could explain the initial high data usage.

Thanks for the advice
I use Dropbox to upload photos
I’ve reset my mobile data usage statistics and will check in 24 hrs to see who’s the possible culprit

Cheers
Martin

Some additional procedures have reduced data usage on Mobile Data
I cleared my History and Website data
In YouTube set video quality to “Data Saver”
Switched off Siri
Make sure I swipe off all open pages before shut down
Back up my iCloud using Wifi

I’m now using around 300MB to 500MB per day instead of 1 to 2 GB per day after all of the above and original post
