Question Rotator Positioning?

Hi All,

Just wondering if there is any issue with connecting a rotator directly to the focuser tube, between the tube & the compression ring? The reason I ask is that I usually use a reducer/flattener and attaching to that with my mono cam isn't an issue. But I can't do it when using a DSLR due to backspacing. So my thinking is to get an M54 rotator & connect it directly to the focuser tube instead, making it usable for both setups.

Cheers,
Mark

Hey Mark,

Sounds like a good plan to me. The only place to NOT put a rotator is between the filters and the camera - so I've been told.

Cheers,
V

So true - plenty of room between a filter wheel & the reducer but you lack that with a DSLR.

Cheers,
