NGC 300 3 hours.

Hi,

Been playing with this one for while, time to post it.
Most of the data was pretty average so it's taken a while to get it to this stage.

8" F/4 astrograph HEQ pro 5 mount. Orion mini guider.

Unmodded canon 1100D, baader type III coma corrector.

Combination ISO 1600 & 800 5 & 10 minute subs, total 3 hours.
Stacked in DSS processed in Ps Cs2.
Cheers,
Justin.

Great looking galaxy photo Justin.

You must be running out of objects to image!

Ross.

Nice shot of a difficult object. I must admit for a brief second I got a bit of a shock as I read "NGC30 at 300 hours" Sometimes I can get a bit lisdexic.

Look forward to you imaging NGC 300, it will be interesting to see the modded 1100d can bring out.

Sometimes it feels that way, but there's still lot's galaxies to be imaged and I need to revisit many DSO's as there's always room for improvement.

Yep I know what you mean, I need to reread quite a lot more than I used to.

Certainly faint, I'd love to see an NGC 300 from your set up.

Cheers,

Justin.

Hmmm.......I think i will add it to my list Justin. I am always looking for galaxies that are big enough to be a decent size in the f/4. May have to wait till next year though, things are warming up here pretty quickly so won't be long and the wet will be here.

Have you considered cooling, cooler box or cold finger?

Cooler box is ok but heavy and tricky to balance.

Cheers,

Justin.

Yeah I am actually getting all the bits together and doing some research so that this wet season, I can hopefully do a peltier cooling mod on it. Here's hoping!
