I was looking up the Canon 600 lens you used Dennis and it appears that one cannot use it with a Canon 5D, is this right.

Hi Leon
Yes - that is correct.
Canon recently introduced a brand new range of Full Frame Mirrorless cameras, the EOS R Series.
This started off with the EOS R, then the budget EOS RP and now the latest EOS R5 and EOS R6 models. With the new mirrorless EOS R Series, the back focus is much less than the classic DSLRs, such as the 5D (Full Frame) or 7D (APS-C) Series.
Along with the EOS R, Canon introduced the new, shorter back focus lens range, the RF Series and these are not compatible with the classic DSLRs.
However, with an RF to EF Lens Adapter, you can go the
other way and use EF lenses with the EOS R series, but not RF lenses with the DSLR 5D or 7D series, due to back focus limitations.
Time to sell your 5D and get an new beaut EOS R5 for around $6,600.
Cheers
Dennis
