A tough gig trying image Rho under local light pollution but it turned out pretty well.

A few things that might help. Most light pollution seems to hit the green channel so I would download the free HLVG Photoshop plugin and run your image through that It will help with the colour balance.

2 minutes ISO800 but the stars have lost their colour. So that would indicate over exposure? I used to have a D800e. That sensor is really a very good sensor. Perhaps try ISO400 and boost in post processing see if that retains colour. Are you using a light pollution filter?

Greg.

I think cutting some highlights in the green channel and some fine tuning would improve the red response considerably. It just lacks red.

No LP filter no point because I rarely use the camera for astro it was more a exercise to see if I could anything reasonable. I'll try again are different iso but don't think it will do much. I actually ran a HLVG over it but didn't do a lot other than knock a bit of overall colour out
