Thanks for that Jeff, I was going to get the 290MC but as I already had a filter wheel, I decided to risk the mono. It was a little daunting to start with but once I understood the process and the various apps to use, things began to gradually fall into place.
With the 290MM I was getting around 2500 frames in 30 secs and stacked 25% using Autostakkert2!
I used Registax 6 for Wavelets Sharpening and I still marvel at what pops out of the somewhat soft input image.
I assemble the RGB frames in CCDStack and then finish in Photoshop, so it can be a bit of a long haul before you get to the final result.
I think that all the small, incremental gains using these sensitive cameras with amazing apps such as FireCapture, AS!2, Registax and PS really helps exploit those lucky moments, even when the seeing is less than optimal.
