Ok the dome aint quite finished, some of the transition pieces you can see are missing are still curing, but the thing is reasonable weather proof even like this,,, So what the floor gets a bit wet,,,Its the first time since I bought the thing It has actually had a GPS fix, and reminded me so on boot up,, Looks a bit like a pea in a pod though huh ???
Worked my arse off to get this project somewhere near completion, Still got a lot to do, but tonite Ill be a visual observer.....Assuming it stays clear......
Goto Seems good, went striaght to the moon , smack dead centre, just coming up over the horizon, blew me away...
Ill try some more targets when it gets dark, cloud permitting
The only Screw up I can figure is the whole building is about 2 degrees the wrong side of mag variation , We must have some magnetic anomoly here that makes a compass do wierd things, not a biggy. I can work around it..
Shawn, what is 1.5 degrees out? I don't understand how a 'building' can be 1.5 degrees out. Your dome rotates.
Ok Ken. the isolated pier pad under the false floor, does not piont striaght, the subfloor pier support will have to built to compensate, to a keen eye it will be seem in the dome itself, slightly offset, and not parrellel with north wall...
A terrific job Shawn - well done. You'll enjoy years and years of comfortable and efficient observing in your excellent observatory; deservedly so after all the hard work you've put into the design, planning, construction and assembly of the final building.
Put one of the PC,s in there this afternoon, installed the ADSL, Its all working, sitting in the Obs now, farting around with network cables .while chatting..Ill come out when the children have all grown up.... tidying up really..
Anybody know the maximum distance for network RJ45, never mind Ill google it..
Thanks Roger and Mike Appreciated, having a little difficulty with the notwork . and prewire, might just shoot over to comp help later If Im still stuck...
