NGC2264 - Cone and Fox Fur Nebulas

So far, thanks to intermittent cloud over 2 nights,
all I could manage was 2.5hrs of 4min. subs.

Can't wait to add more time on this one.

Advice and encouragement always well received!

Nice work Peter.
I started on it last night..not very bright is it. Got some L but not much showing up so far.
I hope I can come close to your fine effort.

This reminds me of Opal gemstone...lovely complex but subtle colours right across the spectrum.

Thanks Alex, Rob.

I might wait until the next new moon to pursue this neb.

It is transiting at only 45 degrees at the mome.

I stacked what I had but found the stars were a little oval so I will have to start over..however I was surprised how the cone jumped out which was very encouraging.
It's clear here but I don't know if I can manage another late night..er early morning....might try sleeping during runs..set an alarm...anyways not going to let losing 3 hours of data upset me..you must always check focus with a big blow up...but you get slack and you pay the price.
