How to DIY Dew sheild for my 10" LB?

Hi guys

Was wondering what methods are out there for creating a home-made dew sheild for my 10" Lightbridge? With winter approaching (seems like already here) I expect mirrors to be fogging up quite a bit. I do have a shroud but find it still isn't enough. Your help is greatly appreciated, thankyou.

silly idea # 453456

if youre near an AC source, what about trying an electric blanket wrapped round the shroud?

- cheap fix if it works

Get one of those camping mats, the thin foam rubber ones you are supposed to be able to sleep on. Cut it to length so it goes around the UTA and extends about 1.5 times the mirror diameter in front of the focuser. Then velcro it in place.

Works for me

thanks for the tip on the camping mat. although we have already made a shroud, that would be a good cheap shroud too!

Try some HIPS high-impact plastic. It's around 1.5mm thick and works well wrapped around the secondary cage and held on with some velcro straps at the join.

Here's our club president, John, with his 12" LB - with dew shield attached.
