Two comets

tracked down a couple of comets last night and managed just over an hour of imaging on each (RASA 8, ASI 183MC Pro, Celestron LP filter, 60 second subs, processed in APP and Photoshop using StarXterminator.

144P/Kushida is currently very close to Aldebaran - which provides a nice colour contrast (but processing headache!) - and is visible (from Melbourne) for a few hours after sunset.

62P/Tsuchinshan is very close to NGC4596 (and indeed a number of small galaxies) and rises around midnight

The latter seems to have more structure at this time and might benefit from longer exposures.

Amazing capture!
I can't even find Orion with my GOTO mount, that may just be me though (and very inaccurate mount alignment I'm thinking).

Sunset?
Is that before or after the clouds?
Yes, I live in sunny Lithgow, if we're lucky it's sunny and there's a sunset, don't see too many lately though.
