Thanks Jeff. Progress of the developing dust storm over the last week. Seeing conditions variable and I missed a couple of days due to bad weather, but I've been getting it when I can. It's still spreading.
Very good work - good to see the storms progression and also a record to show for Mars this season for the archives adding to your collection of well presented mars phases.

Dust storms have a negative impact on rovers exploring the planet's surface, since dust settling on solar panels significantly reduces the amount of sunlight, preventing the device from fully receiving energy. In addition, the dust lifted into the atmosphere obscures the panels of the rovers from the Sun. Dust also gets into the moving mechanical parts of the devices, which leads to malfunctions in their operation. But still, it is a wonderful event to be observed for.
