I started imaging the so called quiet Sunspot at about 9:34 am local time here in Heidelberg, and noted that high clouds were coming in. Had a coffee and decided to have one more look through the clouds at about 10:30 am before closing down. To my utter surprise there was an enormous white area at the side of the umbra. This was quickly imaged followed by a shorter exposure to get some detail of this flare, I followed up with more images at one minute intervals. Over a very short time period the flare changed its characteristics which are shown in this set of images.
