Thanks Mike, Its coming along, Should be finished by christmas, bar finishing touches on the dome room interior...

Its taken a lot longer than anticipated, Its difficult to get contractors for a hobby , when they are still working on cyclone damage..

never mind ,,first light somewhere round the christmas hols I suspect...

Looks great Shawn! Now tell me all about the door and how it slides!

Ive been madly fibreglassing the dome this weekend. Perfecting the door and putting it on is next.

Baz.

Hi ya Baz

Mine runs on 3 PVC moulding runner, 2 forward 1 aft, Nylon guides on the shutter itself, , the bottom panel has 4 nylon guides, and does stick a bit ad a result, but that section will probably not be lowered much, unless I murder some trees, the shutter is 4mm ply glassed over, there are four more rollers to go in yet, but the whole thing turns with fingertip pressure with little significant wandering on the rollers, Ill put the small guide rollers on though obviousy so the weather seal is not subject to friction,,,

Ill post more pics as soon as I can

Nice! Thanks Shawn. Are the nylon thingys commercially available or did you have to fabricate them yourself? How secure is it? (IE burglary) Im trying another alternative a bit more heavy duty. My site details it better but heres a quick pic.

That looks like it will work Baz,

Security, here not really an issue. for starters the the dome slit is 3 meters up, even the rottweiller cant reach it .
