It's a sad day, this is a huge loss.

RIP Stephen Hawking, you gave this world so very, very much.
I think his quote below says so very much.
"It would not be much of a universe if it wasn't home to the people you love."

Although it was inevitable, a great loss of a one of the greatest icons of free thinking scientific intellect...
Considering his considerable and life shortening physical ailments, he lived a long and incredibly meaningful life.

An extremely great loss. Hawking's comments on the need for humanity to leave this planet seem to have fallen on many deaf ears in politics, as have his warnings about present-day indicators of the forthcoming (and catastrophic) greenhouse effect. A sad day - 76 years of age is not that old, but how he persevered through that crippling and debilitating disease for 50 years, is astonishing, not to mention his dazzling intellectual achievements. Vale, Stephen Hawking.

So sorry he is gone, i was looking forward to his continuing with his work on the "Bent Time" theory, the time before time. Irreplaceable.
The Big Bang cast must create a homage.

I know of several people with ALS, the same nerve destroying disease as Hawking. None lived more than 2 years. It's a great loss but we, and he are lucky he lived as long as he did and contributed as much to human philosophy, physics and cosmology as he did.
Truly one of humanities great thinkers.

A great loss and sad to see him go, but he's done fantastically well to last as long as he did!

We have been blessed to have had Steven. We now need to build upon his legacy, not bemoan his passing.
Thank you for your example and your mind. A beacon of light for ever more.
