Should I retire them...?

At what point should you retire a set of jeans?
I think I can save them but SWMBO just scows at me

Until the jeans are holding the patches together, they are fine.

You need more patches. There is still way too much of the original product there to throw out.

Take a leaf out of The Young Ones' Vyvyan Basterd's book (about his underpants):
"It's only the stubborn understains that are holding them together."

Look like my farm jeans mate, nothing wrong with them.

Grow a beard and wear an Akubra, you'll fit right in.

If not, do what Alex said and sell them on Ebay. From what I gather they are in fashion.
