6" Unitron at Brisbane Planetarium?

Has anybody used this instrument and is it still there. When the Planetarium opened at the Mt Coottha botanic gardens, an article appeared in Sky & Telescope saying that there was a 6" Unitron for public viewing.

This was a long time ago being in the mid-late 1970s. I did visit the Planetarium and asked about using the Unitron but was given a polite: No. This always was a disappointment to me. The Planetarium's Website makes no mention of it and I am hoping that somebody can provide me with further information.

I remember as a kid in the 80s hearing that there was a Zeiss 6"
in the smaller dome, but I don't remember meeting anyone in the Brisbane Astro community who had actually looked through it!
Cheers
Andrew.

According to this web page https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/faci...ns#observatory the observatory telescopes are available for viewing on "selected" Saturday evenings - advance bookings required. I believe they have a 150 mm Zeiss refractor and a 250 mm Meade SCT.

I've looked ***at*** the scope

It is a quite superb instrument at f15 with Coude" mount which gives a fixed placing for the eyepiece.

I don't know who's website this is, but check out the post at the base of the page. Http://ausalba.weebly.com/astronomy.html
