Ngc3572

And just to show a totally different perspective of this area ...

Clearly not as spectacular as Andy's APOD winning rendition NGC 3572 but interesting all the same to show how we can zoom in on the same area and come up with a totally different viewing. The generous 1.5d FOV of my TSA120 with the 7.5x reducer allows for a wider perspective as well.

We have NGC 3572 centre of image with NGC 3590 top left quadrant and surrounding nebulosity. Image is comprised of RGB and Ha data. Kept RGB exposures to 120s so as to not over saturate the stars in the clusters.

Really don’t see many images coming from the TSAs but they do a good job. It’s interesting to compare the RGB version against the narrowband from Andy

A rather pretty area Rod, lovely looking stars mate

This view reminds me of the Heart Nebula (IC1805) in Cassiopeia

Top stuff Rodney. A lovely overview of the area, showing things in context.

It was good that the pitch-black x-shaped dust thingy at top left got into the picture.

Thanks Colin, Mike and MnT. The TSA120 took a fair bit of fiddling with it before it was performing optimally but it is producing quite good data now. Thanks for your observation on the dark, cross shapped 'thingy' MnT. Maybe I need to take an even wider field to get more of the object in
