Moon Pleiades

Heads up.

Moon crossing Pleiades right now looks great in binoculars.

Thanks Barry
I just re-lived it in Stellarium. It must have been amazing in real life, with the Moon passing ~1 degree from / through part of Pleiades.

Best

Hi Barry. Yeah what a show! I followed the event from 9pm until midnight last night using my 10 inch dob. Among the highlights was watching Electra slowly reappear on the bright limb close to Mare Crisium and watching Alcyone and the triangle of stars close to it slowly get blotted out by the moon. Sensational!

Clear Skies

Accidental I was trying out a new toy when I happened upon it. I'm glad some others got to see it too.

Its a StarChair 3000 unfortunately they're not made anymore. They show up extremely rarely on the 2nd hand market so if one becomes available you've got to go in hard if you want to get it. I recently aquired this one from the original builder Chris Floyd who was selling the last one he had lying around. Google Ad AI knew I was looking at StarChairs and posted Chris s ad at me when he put it up and I jumped on it. Pure serendipity. Thanks Google Ad AI.

Interesting concept, I must see if I can design and build my own.
I'm an old hand with electric chairs, I built the mother in law one years ago, ingrate wouldn't plug the thing in,
That's gratitude for you!

Given the proliferation of mother-in-law jokes over the years, it's no mystery why she would be reluctant to plug in the "electric chair".
