Neq6pro mount help

hi all!

finally went out and got an NEQ6Pro mount and a 10" Newtonian OTA to go with it. woohoo!

i'll be using it for both visual and basic astrophotography (nothing too advanced as yet

i was wondering if anyone has quick and simple beginner's guide to setting up the NEQ6 Pro?

so far, i have:
1. setup the tripod on a level surface.

2. marked the home position on the RA
(loosened the knob, rotated the head in RA made sure it was level, locked the knob, adjusted the RA setting circle to be 0600hrs in the lower scale of the RA setting circle, tightened the screws, loosened the knob and rotated the head in RA to align with 0 and made a mark)

and DEC
(set the setting circle for the DEC to 90° ensuring the head was level, tightened the screws, then loosened the DEC knob and rotated the head in DEC axis to be 0°)

3. positioned the scope so that the eyepiece for the polar scope is facing me and the open end of the polar scope is facing true south

4. collimated my scope

do i need to make any adjustments using the Alt-Azi Knobs?

any help would be very much appreciated
if anyone has a good step by step guide that would be even greatly appreciated!

feel free to correct me if i have made any mistakes

Regards,
S.

For drift alignment you can use the resource page at ISS by clicking here.

If you wish to use your CCD for alignment you can use the guide I've attached. I can't remember where I got it from.

Rod I have absolutely no issues with you putting my guide out there. In the near future I should go though it and update anything that is required, possibly even put some slightly larger images in

Well there you have it, he even understands the Chinese nomenclature for naming their mounts! Glad that someone knows this stuff!
