A Bubble Neb near N49 in NB, cant find its name.

Hi Guys

This was a nightmare to process, a bit artifacty. Small and dim. Cant find any other images to compare to.

Taken on an RCOS 10" RC Scope at f9, SBIG STXL6303E Camera and PME mount at itelescopes Siding Spring Observatory.
28hrs of 3nm Ha bin1, OIII bin2, SII bin2 all 40min subs and RGB stars inserted.
Processed with CCDstack, Star Tools and Photoshop

I cant find is designation at all, looked high and low. Its near N49 (not in the Sky DB either) in the LMC. Also attached is an unprocessed quicky of the full view if that helps some one tell me what this bubbles name is

Hi, Fred,

Your rendition of the two interlocking bubbles is absolutely delicious. We also like the "whole thing" shot. Do you have a tricolour version of the whole thing? We'd love to see it. The depth that you are getting is quite extraordinary.

Can you give us the J2K coordinates?

Best,
Mike n Trish

Fred, Aladin+Simbad puts NGC1948 inside the bubble. There is also BGS2006b - a SNR - inside it. Neither is close to the centre of the bubble.

Edit: Also NGC1945 is inside the other end of the bubble.

Mike, the centre of the bubble is at 05:24:34.16 -66:25:15.0

Very beautiful and exotic Fred, that's an unusual object for sure
Even though the b/w context image is smaller, to me it looks like it has higher resolution than the colour version, perhaps you can use it as luminance and get even more details?
Awesome work!

Thanks for that Andrew, yes, NGC1948 did pop up in a google search but images didnt look anything remotely close so I thought I had it wrong. This thing must have an NGC number for itself surely .

crikey what an amazing image/object - hard to imagine something that spectacular has not been catalogued, but maybe not?

Yeah this is a very cool capture Fred, the close up is great but like Rolf I too like the wider field, is that the full frame of the camera/scope?

Interesting object Fred. I like the close up of the bubble but would like to see the wider field worked up too. Any chance of that?

Awesome shot Fred, there is so much to see here. I could pan around in that image all day and still not see it all. I love these shots of objects that I haven't heard of before. Great work!

Very nice, well done.

I'm currently also imaging this area although my field of view is somewhat smaller. I'm waiting moon goes away to get some RGB for the stars.

Great find this one. I went back and found it in one of my old FSQ shots in this area.

Here's a list of objects - other than UCAC or NOMAD stars - close to the bubble.
