Blood Moon over Wallaroo

Noting special (looking forward to the good ones I am sure are on their way!) and it was cloudy buuuut tis a record of the event at least

Using new Nikon VR DX GII ED IF 18-200mm Zoom (very happy with this all-in-one lens)

He he yes, been saying that from the day I set it up last year...problem is my hose won't reach it I will be building Wallaroo Stage3 soon which will have it broken down to the dome only on a shed, so I will make sure I scrub it then

Yes a slice of heaven really...shame we are moving back into the big smoke of Canberra soon ...but Wallaroo Observatory Stage3 will be forth coming thanks to our wonderful neighbours out here, it will even be bigger and better and in a similar setting

Unexpected eclipse

I am based outside Hobart and had pretty well written off any chance of seeing this one because it was cloudy all day and getting worse as I headed home.

Jaw hit the ground when I glanced outside the window about 30 minues ater totality. Big gap in the clouds with a beautiful moon. Kids went berserk...

Gotta love Tassie weather....

That's a some consolation though I guess

Heaps of cloud around here too, I just got lucky, the moon just decided to rise above that back hill when there was a sucker hole there, although there was still some thin cloud in the hole that blurred proceedings a little.
