Sombrero + Carina

A couple of new ones taken over this past week of clear skies. Didn't really expect to be able to get anything usable of the sombrero with my short tube refractor and no guiding, but I thought the result was better than expected.

Capture details:

Imaging telescopes or lenses: Skywatcher Black Diamond ED80
Imaging cameras: Atik 314L+ Mono
Mounts: Celestron CG5 GT
Software: Pleiades Astrophoto PixInsight

Sombrero:
19x90" -13c bin 1x1
100 darks
100 bias

Carina:
22x30" -13C bin 1x1
16x60" -13C bin 1x1
11x90" -13C bin 1x1
100 bias

Really like the Sombrero Lee. Eta is good too but needs some colour.

No colour needed at all as the mono Eta Carina looks exactly like it does in my Newtonian at low power with O-III filter. Very nice!

Both are well. But I liked more of Sombrero. Perhaps because we always see Eta.

Thanks guys :-)

Yeah, Carina's kinda boring and would look better in colour, or even mono h-alpha where the stars don't look so bloated, but I'm hardware challenged there: no colour filters let alone narrowband.

I just ordered a QHY5L-II, and hopefully soon I can order a guide scope and then I'll be able to do longer exposures and capture some less frequently seen stuff :-)
