Windows 8.1 Verification Issues

Hi Guys,
Microsoft have decided in their wisdom to make anyone with an account for emails etc to verify if actually we are the owners of the said account.

So they have asked for a code which i don't have, and if i don't have a code could they send one to an alternative email address which also i don't have.

They then ask, if I don't have these two items they will send a code to an email that i have not used for 10 years and dose not exist, and that is the only option one gets.

If this is not done in the time frame they give you one will be locked out until one fixes it.

So what do you do here, has anyone else had this problem, and is there a short fix, so to speak.

Thank You.

Leon

I presume this is a genuine new install of Win 8.1 Normal process is to go online, cable\ADSL is best and do an auto Activate. Doesn't work too well over WiFi\Satellite connections I have found.
Type 'Activate' in the search box and follow the instructions. Hopefully it take care of itself.

Did I mention I HATE Windows 8 ?

Brent, no mate, it is a well established windows 8 that has been going well, it is just that Microsoft decided to stuff things up, by trying to verify my account and trying to send a code to an email address i don't have.
Now i am locked out.

Hi Leon,

Give Microsoft a call and when you do, have the original installation media (DVD) with you. To verify the end-user they sometimes request a number which is imprinted around the inside edge of the DVD disc. If you didn't buy it on disc and bought it online instead, call them and provide the purchase information.

I have just talked to them, what a waste of time, could not understand the female on the other end, I am not happy, there are no options and this is mandatory according to Microsoft.
So we will see what happens, pretty sick of the whole issue.

Leon, I had the same problem, couldn't log in to my w8 laptop, same old problem asking questions for stuff that had never been set up, why these morons at Microsoft think they have the right to control our security puzzles me. In the end I just guessed around all the passwords I might have used until one worked.

Thanks Robin, I have actually been down that track as well and signed in locally and then reversed it, but to no avail, I am just locked out permanently as it seems.
