My PMs are being lost!

Firstly let me say that this is an excellent website.

However during the past 6 months I have attempted to buy several items, each time I reply publicly and say "PM sent", then right click on the seller and "Send private message". Twice I have received a private notification from the seller saying that they did not receive my message. Once I missed out on the item because of it.
I sent an email to support the first time it happened and was told that nothing was wrong with the web site.
Last night a private message that I sent was not received, and I fear contacting support will again not reveal any issues with the web-site.

So what am I doing wrong?

Each time this occurred I was using the current Fire Fox on Windows 7.

Hi Tim,

I noticed this morning that I got your message via email instead of by PM.

According to my ad Brian Nordstrom also PM'd me, but I haven't received anything at all from him.

Something seems a bit odd.

The site has been misbehaving in several ways for months (pictures issues for some, right clicking, PM's...). Might need a save of the history and reload of the BBS files (several websites are doing this lately, including one I moderate on)

Hi Morton,
I sent both a PM and an email to you this morning. A carrier pigeon should be arriving at your house in about 6 hours

Hi Tim,
I replied to your PM both via the IIS website and also to your private email account, let me know if you received either.
Thanks
Bo

So far today I am receiving PMs and emails, and I have never had an issue replying to a PM. Its only been when initiating a new PM. I have initiated about 5 in the past 6 months, and two of them never made it.
I just initiated a new PM to Kunama and it was received and replied to.
I'll send Leon a new PM and see if he gets it and replies to it.
Thanks guys.

Since we are on the topic of pms I requested a few times for the inbox size to increase from 200 to 300.

They said they would give it some thought but never heard back from the admins.

Or you could just clean out old, superfluous PM's... I do it every week.

Several people reporting issues certainly seem to negate this statement, don't you think?

For people that think their PM's are not being sent, it's usually because they look in their 'sent items' and don't see anything there.

And THAT is because you unticked the box (or didn't tick the box) that says "save a copy of sent messages".

Over 100 PM's are sent every day through IceInSpace. I feel very comfortable that the system is working exactly as it should, with only 2 or 3 people having issues - it's very likely it's something to do with the individual (mailbox size, mailbox full, spam folder etc).

Thanks Leon and others, my last three PMs were sent and received perfectly.

Mike, I am not sure how to check whether my IIS mail box is full in terms of MBytes, but I can see 32 messages, and 200 are allowed. The reason that I think PMs are not being sent is because people are telling me they are not getting them (after I reply publicly with "PM Sent"). The last time this occurred was Saturday night around 8:35 pm with a message I sent to MortonH regarding a TeleVue 25mm Plossl. Not sure if this info helps with investigating server logs. I am 100% sure that I typed the message but only 99.9998% sure that I actually sent the message (0.0002% uncertainly is alcohol related).
