To those who are enjoying a spectacular view - please have some pity with us and don't brag too much during totality...

Sorry to hear about your Aunt passing Lewis.

I've seen a reasonable amount of solar eclipses, but few lunar (always damn cloudy!!!!).

Very frustrated, especially since we've had mostly clear nights the past week and a half...it's like the universe is saying 'nope, mate, you ain't gonna see this".

Just ended up with one clear patch just as totality started. I can now say I have "seen" the total eclipse.

Still looks spectacular in ( normally ) cloud central of Melb
Amazing how the line of heavy clouds are just staying to our west
I still get impressed by how 3D the moon looks when fully eclipsed against a clear background sky

Looks like a relatively dark one, though hard to tell from the sites.

Anyone posted a still from a decent camera and scope yet ?

By a country light year, the BEST lunar eclipse i have ever seen. Colour in the moon is just breathtaking; like its been airbrushed! Beehive cluster nearby is great and I can see stars right on the lunar limb. Bout time we got a winner down here! Back to it...

seeing a few gaps in the low cloud in Brissie, but there's high cloud above it, so no good anyway

Sorry to hear that Lewis. I hope it was peaceful

Getting a bit of a show in Adelaide. My tracking mount seems to be countering some of the cloud issues. I'm getting some good shots......I think. I can only judge fro the camera screen

If you look carefully towards the end of the Eclipse, as in the beginning, you will see some of the blue light that the Ozone in our atmosphere has refracted onto the Moon as well as mostly red...this will occur on the Moons limb ...visually or on the Youtube feeds.

Observing from michelago 50k south of Canberra with Bengt from Sweden Matt (Kunama) and Tak Bono’s and Greg Bond from Brisbane. First half of the eclipse mostly clear. Cloud rolled in a few mins before mid totality.

Beautiful eclipse.

Pretty spectacular eclipse. Still looks fantastic. Hopefully my pics will turn out, if not I don't really mind - I am more into visual astronomy anyway.

Where in Brisbane is Greg? @ Ipswich where I live, it's cloud, cloud and thrice cloud and has been since this afternoon...
