lightweight, waterproof, floating, multi-use dew shield

.... for your guidescope.

The euro-stubby setting fits perfectly on my evoguide 50

I'm sure I'm not the first or only one to pull this off

Hope everyone is looking at skies as clear as mine are right now! Finally!

Er, no, been doing that for years on finders and finder-guiders. A regular neoprene can/stubby holder fits a 50mm finder well. It even works with a red dot finder (first cover with a short plastic tube, cut lengthwise, so it "clips" over the RDF, then cover with a stubby holder, also cut lengthwise ... I suppose you could glue them together).

Yep, I even make few shield extensions out of neoprene or EVA foam from Bunnings.

Tip - The Greenshed in Mitchell currently has a supplier box full of stubbie holders, REALLY cheap (I picked up a near new ex-RAAF genuine Pelican case there the other day for $5)

EVA is good stuff. EVA75, 6mm thick seems to be optimum for dew shields - it's just rigid enough but very light weight. I've used for dew shields on a few OTAs.

I currently have a roll of the stuff a bit over 1.2m long earmarked for a new dew shield for my C14. It's sitting in my lounge room to remind me to get on with it .... where it's been since last year. I am the master procrastinator.
