Eta 1600mm FL from last night

I left the scope imaging last night and went to bed at 1:00am. Got up at 4:00am. Still having issues with focusing frown emoticon Barlowed the FSQ x3 and shot a closer field of the keyhole in Ha. Conditions were good. Just technical issues still with the focuser. Stars a little eggy as I didn't use the OAG. Adapter is still being made. As I guided through the finder there is a little flex over the 5min subs. This is Ha 7nm with the QHY9. Overall happy with the level of details but I need to tighten up further to increase resolution.

Far out, that's good. I thought the FSQ was only good for wide field?
The resolution is great

Remarkable resolution. Stars are only very slightly off so still plenty of sharpness. A great result.

Greg.

That's excellent, shows the little scope has real potential at those FLs

Top notch, Marc. Your subtle and delicate handling of the nebulosity has paid off. All our favourite features clear and present. Best, Mike.

Interesting Marc. The resolution is a similar view to my STXL and RC12". Detail is good and interesting views of the more interesting features within this field. Contrast is nice too. I have been re-imaging this myself with better guiding and the Homunculus. You might consider some short subs for the Homunculus yourself. It comes up pretty easily and can be layered in via a reveal mask. Well done on the FSQ. Impressive results.

Thanks. The optics are good enough to put up with a little magnification.

Thanks Greg. I lost a lot of subs. Out of the 4h about half of them were duds.

Thanks Paul. Similar fov yes but not even close to your resolution. Aperture always wins. Have a closer look at your rendition. It's chalk and cheese.

Thanks Mike. Yes I posted from my tablet and the site translated the emoticon literally. Pissed of with my focusing issues now. Can you believe that's my third focuser motor I've burnt out. It's driving me nuts.

Hi Marc.

You're driving me crazy!

You get a long focal length 11" Celestron and turn it into a wide field scope.

You now get a wide field FSQ and turn into a long focal length imager!

Do you follow any rules or conventions?

But, as always, your end result is unique and impressive.

Great looking photo. So sharp and so detailed. I love the tones.

Ross.

rusty

ps i'm way off with the field its twice as close!

Thanks Russel. I like long FL but I have no obs. So large aperture is out of the question. The C11 is too heavy to move in and out. Those big scopes are meant to be on a permanent set-up. The FSQ is light and I can haul it around and it seems to work for now with what I'm trying to do. The field is great, although you will never get the angular resolution of a big newt or RC type.
