What an incredible journey this has been for me.
After a kinda anti-climax trip at the Indonesia totality in 2016, I decided to go for the long US trip, specifically in Oregon.
Trying to avoid the chaos in Madras, I opt for a big land near Ashwood, about 30-40 miles away from Madras. The owner was kind of to offer a spot for a small fee.
Near disaster almost strike. Just about 4 miles from the observing spot, we got a flat tyre!! That was about an hour before sunrise. We were stuck in a small road, with intermittent and no phone line!
Miraculously, my random text to the land owner somehow reached him, and we managed to be at the site about 2 hours before 1st contact!
Here are some of my collections. Learned a lot from the 2012 Australia totality, and this time I got some pretty good data... and yes! I finally got a proper HDR shot.
Another new thing for me is watching the moon shadow racing across Mount Hood. The Canon camera which was supposed to do the job 'mysteriously' refused to work, and I ended up using my iphone!
