Grabbed a handful of photons

And added them to the previous M8 data.

http://www.astrobin.com/full/305853/B/

I can safely say it is my best image yet, which is not saying much at all

CCDStack was giving me the sheets with registering the new data and the old data (note the weird edges), so here it is rough and dirty tonight, fresh off the press I'll process it again tomorrow with a refreshed set of eyes and a more attentive brain (as it is, I forgot to debayer the stack 5 times before registering...yeah....).

The whole fetid enchilada is done with an Esprit 80ED, an SBIG OSC (with Baader UV/IR and LP filters), and a veteran Vixen GPD mount. Hand focused yet again because Aus Post has decided I am not ready for my Sharp Sky Pro still...

I dunno if the crop below is the same as the big bass-turd on Astrobin, but you get the eye-dear.

Yeah yeah yeah... gimme time....I am trying to figure out WHY it's gone apepoo on me - I might try a manual star selection, as it's centreing on the nebula core stars. Might try selecting more peripheral stars.

PS: actually passed 2 hrs total integration on this - that's a record for me

And I haven't lost interest in finishing it yet either. I must be getting old.

A nice result Lewis

I think your issues with registration are due to a tilt in your optical train, and perhaps also spacing needs fine-tuning. Data processing looks very good.

Tilt maybe but don't think so. Not spacing. Examining individual subs shows a flat field.

I also changed uv/IR filters since the prior run so that threw off my standard focus position and other issues.Oddly the Baader uv/IR gave worse results than the $100 cheaper Optolong! Swapping back and will use the Baader for visual
