Meade Tracking Sun

G'Day All,
Can anyone tell me if the Meade LXD75 mount is able to track the sun and if it can where do I find it on the Hand control. The only thing I can find is the warning not to look at the sun

Gday Ian
To get the right tracking rate with a bog std Autostar/Audiostar, you must set the tracking rate to custom = -3.
You can manually slew to the sun if required, or you can use the std technique of creating a fake asteriod that always hides behind the sun :-)
As per always, ensure all optics are protected properly before slewing or gotoing to the sun.
Andrew

If you run patched firmware, you can get a bit better precision on the RA tracking rate if you want, but the scope wont track in DEC, so you can get a bit of drift over a long time.
