Not a Supernova ?
was up this morning at around 5;30. Saw Orion. North of Lambda Orionus, about the same distance away as Betelgeuse is from the belt, was a very bright star, too bright to be Venus. and I think too high to be Venus if Venus gets that far northWondering what it was.
I would not expect it to be a supernova -- but it was bright enough, but watched it for a few minutes and it did not appear to move, so is unlikely to be a plane.
I never expect to find a supernova -- last one was 500 od years ago in our galaxy.
Have never seen the space station, so what might it be. Was getting ready to go out, dos did not get a chance to observe it for longer.
