Have you got a faulty keypad like I had on some of the buttons? I was having all sorts of trouble with a couple of my direction keys on my LX200. I had to press them very hard to get them to work. It seems that the carbon coating on the inside of the pads wear out.. I found out from a Tech I work with that you can purchase a low cost repair kit that works very well for all pads on any remote. I purchased one from WES Electronic and gave it a go. It is very very simple to do (Childs Play) and now my Autostar Keypad works like new again. The Kit only costs $19 plus postage and can be purchased from the following:

OK, I have the kit. You have to mix two parts. It makes up enough to restore 50 keys - but only lasts 72 hours after mixing. I just have an Autostar keypad to do so I'll have a lot left over. I'll bring it to Snake Valley Camp next weekend and do it there. Soooooo.....................anyone coming to Snake Valley who has crappy key pads (or telephone handsets or TV remote controls) BRING THEM ALONG and we'll use up all the mixture!
Hi guys. After I mixed mine and fixed my Autostare I put the rest in a plastic bag an put it in the Freezer. that will slow down the drying out process. this is what happens to the solution after 3 days. You can also re-mix the dry solution in some thinners and it will also work at a later date. so far the Freezer solution seems to work... after all of that just remember that it's only $20.00 to fix your keypad even if it only gets used for that process. It's a lot better that buying a new handset for sure...
Use it a lot but never worried about storing it, If i ever did a customer remote control I alway found something of mine to fix or maintain. (other remotes).
