Just seeing if there's any noticeable difference between the Takahashi ortho 32mm and the Tak Le 30 ?
Beside the obvious 42deg and 52deg field of view eyepieces!
Very small but noticeable difference (if viewing side by side) in sharpness in favour of the Abbe. (I put one of each into the TSA binoculars compare)
Slightly larger exit pupil in favour of the Abbe
Slightly larger true field in favour of the LE
Slight cheaper to buy in favour of the Abbe...
It seems your new TSA binoviewer has other good uses as well!!!
Already have a le30 so it's probably not worth upgrading to an ortho.
How's the new panther type mount going for the binoviewer ?
The Panther style idea has been shelved Darren, it is easier to get a chair up to the scope when the scope is at the side and the variance in eyepiece height is substantially less between horizontal and vertical positions with the side mounted scope. Now I just have to make a stronger L bracket...
For what its worth ..Ive heard that the Tak orthos are a hair sharper than even the KK orthos and UO ones...and Tak have come out with a new line of EPs to compete with the highly regarded Vixen HD series...Called T.O.E with 6 elements...at 2.5mm , 3.3 mm and 4mm ..cant wait for the reviews to all come in.
