Another couple of newbie questions

Just want to know if anyone have circle settings on their Dob bases, and if you do, at what point is the zero set at, is the the front or back of the scope base. I will be getting a digital angle meter shortly to help with the elevation angles. But will be looking later to fit magneto pots and associated interface to connect to a laptop running the Stellarium program to make it easier to find objects in the night sky. When first setting up the scope here in the southern hemisphere in Australia what direction do you have to set up the scope to North or South and with the digital angle meter do I have to set the scope tube horizontally and zero the digital meter or is it done vertically. Any replies much appreciated.

Yep, on the base, North is the '0' point and I have a marked out spot ( or two ) on the driveway. My Base is triangular with a foot at each apex. Just picked one apex to be 'North'

Very useful I find.
