Losmandy G11 Gemini + Accessories - $2250

For Sale:
Losmandy G11 Gemini (version 1)
- Freshly stripped, serviced, aligned and greased.
- 0.39" to 0.6" RMS guiding after service
- +/- 5~6" PE over the worm period, and the profile is quite smooth
- Has run a number of 180s unguided subs at 400mm f/l
- ~30kg total instrument capacity.

Includes:
- 1x Losmandy Gemini hand controller.
- 1x 5kg counter weight.
- 1x Losmandy LW Tripod
- 1x Set of Losmandy hardware encoders (not currently fitted)
- 1x William Optics 40cm dovetail.
- 1x Losmandy Dual saddle plate.
- 1x Amazon Losmandy plate.
- 1x Spare Losmandy Motor.
- 1x Astrogadget WI-FI module for wifi scope.
- 1x Losmandy USB -> RS232 cable.
- 1x Power cord (lead with bare ends).
- 1x Power converter that boosts 12v to 15v

(Losmandy G11's run on 12 to 18v DC, though I and many others have found the mounts to be much more performant running between 14v and 17v)

I can include a 240v to 15v 7A power pack with the mount.

This mount is in gorgeous condition for its age, and is operating exactly as you'd expect from a Losmandy G11 Gemini.

I have used this mount exclusively with the USB to RS232 adapter, controlling the mount through NINA and the Gemini.NET ASCOM driver,
though the hand controller was used on the very first night, simply to validate that it works...

I have just re-meshed the RA/DEC worms to eliminate as much backlash as possible, as well as improve tracking accuracy.
After doing so, I was achieving 0.5" RMS guiding over a number of multiple hour guiding sessions

Reason for selling this amazing mount is simply that I've settled on an imaging rig that has a total weight of 6.8kg,
and running a ~50kg rig to point a 65mm apo running an OAG is a bit ridiculous, and with my spinal injuries not getting better with age (what a shock, right?) I needed to move to a considerably smaller, more manageable mount.

Located in North Brisbane, but happy to box it up and ship it (via courier) at a buyers expense (and risk, so insure the shipping accordingly), though it certainly won't be cheap...

Chasing $2250 or near offer.

Alex.

Hi Alex, Just a few questions regarding the mount:
What year was it purchased?
Does it have the Spring loaded worm gears?
Do you have any photos of the mount?

Josh:

The mount was originally manufactured in 2005, its Celestron branded as a 'Celestron CG-11 by Losmandy'.

It has the high torque motor upgrade, and was retrofitted from the 492 Digital Drive to the Gemini system at some point in its lifetime.

It does not have spring loaded worms, it's still got the original two piece worm blocks... I have looked at doing the one piece worm block (and the high precision worm for the RA axis) but Losmandy have not had them in stock for quite a while, though I am still on the waitlist.

Heres some pics of the mount, one of it set up for a night, and a screenshot of the last guiding stats I had a month or so ago...
