LED light panel

I was shopping in spotlight today and noticed they sell a variable brightness light panel , the illuminated area being sufficient for an A4 piece of paper. I'd imagine its a tracing aid , but thought it might make a good light panel for taking "lights" with a small scope. Is anyone using one i wonder?

PS was priced at$99 , would be even cheaper with a members card or in one of their sales.
