Bug nebula with C11

I did a test run with the C11 last night but I just don't have stable enough conditions for the focal length.
This was at full focal length as I don't have a reducer/flattener (thus the comatic stars). Short focal length refractors are just a tad easier to deal with

looks to me not quite in focus either. i agree shorter scopes tend to be more practical and certainly more forgiving of quick setups.

Quite possibly. I've got enough to stay entertained just with the refractors and I'm branching out into widefield with camera lenses. While doing this imaging last night I was gazing over at Cygnus thinking "I could be imaging those objects".

Good on you for giving the C11 a crack Tony. Long focal lengths are a real pain to deal with. I often wonder why I persevere. Having said that, as I have said in other recent threads, if you can learn how to deal with challenges at such long lengths, surely it will improve the quality of your shorter length work. At least thatís what Iím telling myself.....
