Large Magellanic Cloud - Narrowband

Building on my RGB_Ha version of this image that I posted in November last year, I have now completed the narrowband version of same with the inclusion of the OIII and SII data.

The LMC is fun to image as it has so many objects and intricacies to explore. This image is the result of over 47 hours of data capture including the RGB and narrowband filter data. (Captured in October last year before the current cloudy weather settled in )

Compiling this image has been a great project from a basic astrophotography perspective but also providing the opportunity to peer under the covers in looking closely at the structure of our nearby neighboring galaxy.

Clear Skies,
Rodney

That's very interesting Rodney. I can almost see the disjointed spiral arm structure. I think it is the NB data which is highlighting that. Great field of view.

Chris/Mike, thanks. Definitely lots to take in with the twists and swirls going on in this object.

Thanks Narayen, a veritable shopping list of objects for a long focal length system for sure.
