1st Feb Prom liftoffs

Whilst observing the sun with my Lunt 100 SS scope I noticed a surge prominence on the Sun's NW limb (also a long hedgerow prominence). Quickly got my camera and took some pics. The surge lasted about 8 min. There was also another liftoff prom on the SW limb (4th pic). Sky conditions were just fair with light cloud hampering focusing. All are single exposures with my Canon 550d camera.

Great Sun captures John.

I saw it this evening with a Lunt 40mm these flares all bunched on the same side, was spectacular.

Nice record of the proms from yesterday, didn't see the prom lifting off, was probably before I'd set up in the early arfternoon.
